Voice Mail Setup
Follow the following steps to record your name and personal greeting and to set your security code. It is important that you set up your mailbox before using the Message Center.
Step 1. Access your Subscriber Mailbox
When you are using your home phone
- Call Voicemail phone number 612.605.9010. The system will simply ask for your password.
- Enter your 4 to 10 security code. The first time you access your mailbox, your security code will be 0000.
When you are accessing your voicemail message away from home
- Call Voicemail phone number 612.605.9010. Press #.
- Enter your 10 digit home phone number.
- Enter your security code. The first time you access your mailbox, your security code will be
0000.
Step 2. Change your Security Code
- Access your subscriber mailbox as described in Step 1.
- Press 3 to access Phone Manager.
- Press 1 to access the Personal Options menu in Phone Manager.
- Press 4 to change your security code.
- When prompted, enter a new numeric security code (4 to 10 digits) followed by #.
- Listen to the Message Center repeat the security code that you just entered. If your security code is correct, press 1. If it is incorrect, press 9 and re-enter a new security code.
Step 3. Record your Name to Identify your Mailbox
- After changing your security code, press 5 at the Personal Options menu to record your name. When recording your name, do not include an introduction such as “Hello, this is…” because the Message Center already provides that introduction.
- Press 2 to begin recording. Press 2 again to stop recording.
- After recording your name, you can:
- Press 6 to review your name.
- Press 4 to discard your name and start over.
- Press * to cancel and exit to the Personal Options menu, without saving the recording.
- When you are satisfied with the recording, press 5 to save it.
Step 4. Record Greetings for your Mailbox
- Once you have recorded your name, press 3 at the Personal Options menu to record a personal greeting.
- Press 1 to record the greeting to be used when your line is busy.
Press 2 to record the greeting to be used for all other conditions.
- Press 2 to begin recording. Press 2 again to stop recording.
- After recording your greeting, you can:
- Press 6 to review your greeting.
- Press 4 to discard your greeting and start over.
- Press * to cancel and exit to the Personal Options menu, without saving the recording.
- When you are satisfied with the recording, press 5 to save it.
- Press * to leave Phone Manager.
Tips for Listening to Messages
* Change message volume to hear message better. You can pause the message during playback (press 1), then press 6 to increase volume or 9 to lower volume. Press 6 or 9 one or more times until the desired volume is reached. You will need to press 1 again to resume message playback.
* Move through voice messages at the speed you want. When you have a long voice message or a caller who speaks too slowly, simply press 1 to pause the message, then press 4 one or more times until you reach a comfortable playback speed. On the other hand, if you have a caller who speaks too quickly, press 1 to pause the message, then press 7 one or more times. When pressing 4 or 7 to change the speed, you’ll need to press 1 to resume listening to messages.
* Messages stored in your mailbox will be automatically erased after 30 days.
Voicemail Options
- Forward Messages: Press 2, then follow the voice instructions to forward the message to one or more subscribers.
- Back up 5 Second: Press 3 to repeat a portion of the message.
- Discard: To discard the message, press 4.
- Save: Press 5 to save the message for future reference.
- Review: Press 6 to listen to the message again from the beginning.
- Skip: Press 7 to skip to the next message without taking any action on the current message.
- Reply: Press 8 while listening to the message, then press 2 to record a reply message or press 9 to transfer to the sender of the message.
- Advance 5 seconds: Press 9 to advance through the message in 5-second increments.
- Help: Press # at any time to review all of the menu options.
- Cancel/Exit: Press # once to cancel this function. Press it several times to exit voicemail.
- Date/Time Stamp: Press 00 while the message is playing or immediately after to hear date and time.
